I finally caved after months of lusting and bought myself a ByTerry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock. Eyeshadow sticks have of course been around for a while but I have never loved them due to the chalky formulation and how they would drag on the eyelids. Recently however they have have something of a comeback, led my the Ombre Blackstar range from ByTerry. The texture is so soft and creamy and am absolute dream to apply. I just sweep it straight onto my lids (no brush required) and blend with either my finger of the Mac 217 (any fluffy brush will do).

There are 12 colours to choose from in total and with a makeup collection already full to bursting with browns and neutrals I opted for Misty Rock. The shade is so hard to describe and it looks completely different on different people depending on your colouring. However on my I would describe it as a taupe beige with a silver iridescence that makes it look almost lilac in some lights. It really is so pretty and can be for daytime or amped up for the evening by taking it building up the colour, taking it under the eye and adding black liquid eyeliner for added drama. I’m even thinking of investing in another shade and Bronze Moon is on the top of the list.

At ¬£29 a pop it’s by no means cheap so I have also found a fantastic affordable alternative. The Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick in Bluffing is very similar but just a ¬†little less pigmented.
